Fissure Treatment

Fissures, also known as anal fissures, are small tears or cracks in the lining of the anus. They can cause discomfort and pain, particularly during bowel movements. While they can affect people of all ages, they are more commonly seen in infants and young adults. Whatever the case may be if one is suffering from fissures then he/she should get fissure treatment in indore right away.

Symptoms

The symptoms of fissures can vary but often include:

  • Pain
  • The primary symptom of a fissure is intense pain during and after bowel movements. The pain may last for a few hours and can be described as sharp, burning, or throbbing.

  • Bleeding
  • Fissures can cause bright red blood on the surface of the stool or on toilet paper. However, the bleeding is usually minimal and self-limited.

  • Itching
  • Some individuals may experience itching and irritation around the anal area.

  • Muscle spasms
  • In some cases, the muscles around the anus may go into spasm, causing further pain and discomfort.

    Causes

The causes of fissures can be attributed to several factors, including:

  • Constipation
  • The most common cause of fissures is the passage of hard, dry stools due to constipation. The strain during bowel movements can lead to the formation of fissures.

  • Diarrhea
  • On the opposite end of the spectrum, chronic diarrhoea can also irritate the anal area and increase the risk of developing fissures.

  • Trauma
  • Any injury or trauma to the anal area, such as during childbirth can cause fissures.

  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Conditions like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis can lead to chronic inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, increasing the risk of fissure development.
